Its special historical course and geographical location have created an exotic beautiful city, Harbin, which has not only brought together the history and culture of northern ethnic minorities but also integrated Chinese and foreign cultures. It is a famous historical and cultural city and tourist city in China, also known as "the Ice City", “Oriental Moscow” and “Oriental Paris”. The whole city covers an area of 53,100 km2 (including an urban area of 10,198 km2), occupying 0.55% of the country's land area, with its population occupying 0.7% of the country's total population. It has 45 ethnic minorities, bringing a variety of religious cultures together, making it featuring the co-existence of Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Catholicism, Islam and Orthodox Christianity in China. Harbin, with a long history, is a city that has never had city walls. As early as 22,000 years ago, humans were found to be active here in the late Paleolithic Era. About 5,000 years ago, Harbin entered the Neolithic Age. About 3,000 years ago, in the late Shang Dynasty, Harbin entered the Bronze Age and was in the distribution area of the culture of Baijinbao-the earliest ancient civilization county in the Heilongjiang region. Harbin Ice and Snow World, China, is the world's largest ice and snow theme park. Founded in 1999, it was launched by the Harbin Municipal Government in Heilongjiang Province to welcome the millennium celebration of the Shenzhou Century Tour. With the advantage of Harbin's ice and snow season, it showcases the ice and snow culture and tourism charm of the northern city of Harbin. Every year, a large number of tourists come to Harbin for sightseeing. Harbin suffered tremendous hardships during the Japanese invasion of China. The Japanese government established the 731 unit in Harbin to eradicate human nature and conduct human biological experiments using live humans. The Japanese military will carry out inhumane biological weapon experiments on the Chinese, Soviet, and North Koreans captured. For example, live people are dissected directly without the use of anesthetics. Mice carrying pestis and sick animals are used to bite live people, exchange animal blood for live people, burn people slowly with fire, and make babies into specimens. During the experiment, approximately 100000 civilians and prisoners of war were abused and killed. Japan subsequently deployed its produced bacterial and viral weapons on the Chinese battlefield, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths. After the war, Japan reached a shameless behind the scenes deal with the United States, with the condition of submitting all research materials of Unit 731 to the United States, without holding Emperor Showa and the responsible persons for the bacterial warfare accountable. To this day, Japan and the United States have not publicly disclosed relevant historical materials. |
